Community Programs
For Parents
The core curriculum focuses on mastery of essential academic learning requirements that every student is expected to know and demonstrate. The core curriculum aligns with state and national requirements. In compliance with the core curriculum requirements, the Coldwater School District has fully implemented Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts.
Advanced Placement Classes
Coldwater Community Schools provides the opportunity for high school students to enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, English Literature, Government, French, Spanish, European History, U.S. History, Physics and Psychology. Accelerated and advanced courses, such as Math, Algebra, Spanish and English are also available to students who attend Legg Middle School.
Early College Program
This program is open to 10th Grade students attending Coldwater High School who want a head start in their college education. Students who participate in the program will be enrolled for a 13th year, and upon successful completion of the program, will earn a diploma and up to two years of college credits.
Vocational/Technical Education
Through collaboration with the Branch Area Careers Center, students enrolled at Coldwater Community Schools can participate in desired specialized training related to future career paths. The Branch Area Careers Center provides counseling, career assessment, individual job training opportunities, and job placement. For a list of training opportunities.
Interscholastic Athletic Program
The Coldwater Community Schools' athletic programs are competitive and State-recognized and compete in state-of-the-art facilities, including a new track and turf field, the Dr. Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center, and new tennis courts. Programs include Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Sideline and Competitive Cheer, Bowling, Swim and Dive, Golf, Cross Country, Tennis, Football, Track and Field, Wrestling, Gymnastics, and Volleyball.
Available Electives
Coldwater Community Schools offers a wide variety of elective courses for middle school and high school students, including Science Discovery, STEM-Robotics and Engineering, Mythbusters, Choir, Band, Yearbook, Film and Music, Guitar, and History of Rock N’ Roll.
Extra-Curricular and Club Activities
Coldwater Community Schools offers students a wide variety of extra-curricular and club activities, including Astra Club, School Musical, Balladiers, Science Olympiad, Drama Club, Student Council, Interact Club, Youth in Government, National Honors Society, and Robotics Club.
Kids Club Childcare Center
Kids Club Childcare offers year-round childcare services for children ages 3 through 5th Grade. Childcare is available Monday through Friday from 6 AM-6 PM. For further information, please call 517-279-5975.
Kinder Learning Academy

Coldwater Community Schools offers state of the art technology in grades K-12. Every classroom in the district is wired for internet and telephone service. CCS deploys over 1100 internet capable workstations, over 1100 Chromebooks, and approximately 1000 iPad tablets. Each building has multiple laser printers, web content filtering for CIPA compliance, and complete voicemail capabilities. CCS offers Moodle Classes, School Messenger telephone notification services, and many other on-line learning opportunities for all grade levels.
